Tense situation in Matara, 7 hospitalised.

A tense situation and sounds of shots fired has been reported in Matara during a protest march calling for the ousting of UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe this afternoon. Seven persons who were injured have been admitted to the Matara hospital.

The clash had erupted between two parties, one against the current United National Party leadership and the other calling for Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to stay on as the UNP leader. UNP PS member Krishantha Pushpakumara has also been injured during the clash and admitted to the Matara Hospital according to reports. The police in the area have taken steps to bring the situation under control.

ඔහුගේ පාදයට වෙඩි වැදී ඇති බවත් මේවන විට හෙතෙම කරාපිටිය රෝහලේ හදිසි අනතුරු ඒකකයේ ප්‍රතිකාර ලබන බවත් අප වාර්තාකරු පැවසීය.

තුවාල ලැබූ තවත් කිහිප දෙනෙකු ද රෝහලට ඇතුළත් කර ඇත.
